EU AI Act

The EU AI Act,
made operational.

The obligations are written. The open question is whether you can show what your team actually does with AI. Northbeams turns the EU AI Act into daily practice: an inventory of every AI tool, attribution to a person, and signed evidence you can hand over.

From document to practice

A policy PDF is not compliance. Evidence is.

Most teams have read the Act and written a policy. Fewer can show, on demand, which AI tools are in use, who is using them, and what controls apply. That gap is where Northbeams works. AI-literacy duties (Article 4) have applied since 2 February 2025. Article 50 transparency and the general-purpose AI rules apply from 2 August 2026. The Article 26 deployer duties for Annex III high-risk systems were deferred to 2 December 2027 by the Digital Omnibus on AI.

The obligations we help operationalize

Three articles most deployers have to answer for.

These are general summaries, not legal advice. Your counsel scopes what applies to you.

Article 4: AI literacy
In force since 2 February 2025. Staff who use AI need a sufficient level of AI literacy. Northbeams shows you who is using what, so training lands where the tools actually are, and you can evidence it.
Article 26: deployer obligations
Deployers of high-risk AI carry duties around human oversight, monitoring, and record-keeping. For Annex III systems these apply from 2 December 2027, deferred from 2 August 2026 by the Digital Omnibus on AI. Northbeams supplies the inventory, the oversight controls, and the logs.
Article 50: transparency
Certain AI interactions and AI-generated content must be disclosed. Northbeams helps you know where AI is in play, so the right disclosures are not missed.
How Northbeams maps to it

Inventory. Attribution. Evidence.

Northbeams is the deepest shadow-AI visibility an enterprise can deploy, down to the on-device prompt. Here is how that record maps to the Act.

1
Inventory your AI
One install maps every AI tool across browser, desktop, CLI, and MCP, sorted sanctioned, unknown, or high-risk. 10,000+ tools in the catalogue, refreshed daily.
2
Attribute the usage
Every event ties to a person, a tool, a model, and a time. Your record of use is real, not a survey.
3
Keep the evidence
It all lands on one immutable, signed log. Evidence exports it mapped to the obligations, gathered daily rather than reconstructed later.
One honest boundary. Northbeams is classified as a tool, not an AI provider under the Act, and this page is a general summary, not legal advice. Your obligations hinge on how your organization uses AI, and the evidence pack is part of your evidence library, not a substitute for legal review or a conformity assessment. For the step-by-step, see the EU AI Act guide in Northbeams University.

Three dates, not one
Article 4 AI literacy has applied since 2 February 2025. Article 50 transparency and the GPAI rules apply from 2 August 2026. Article 26 deployer duties for Annex III high-risk systems apply from 2 December 2027. Evidence gathered daily beats evidence reconstructed the week before.
