Get ready for the EU AI Act

Last updated 2026-07-13

The EU AI Act obligations that matter for most companies deploying AI take effect on 2 August 2026, when the rules for general-purpose AI, high-risk systems, and Article 50 transparency apply. AI-literacy duties under Article 4 have applied since 2 February 2025. If your team uses AI tools, you are a deployer, and Article 26 puts obligations on you.

How Northbeams helps

  • Readiness at a glance. Under Evidence, then Compliance, the EU AI Act card shows your readiness percentage, controls met, and the days left to the enforcement date.
  • Evidence built in. Your Evidence Pack includes EU AI Act Article 26 coverage, drawn from the governance data Northbeams already collects.
  • A record over time. The earlier you turn on discovery and set policies, the more history your pack carries when the deadline arrives.

Start now

  1. Turn on discovery so you can see the AI tools in use. See See your AI inventory.
  2. Set policies so use is governed, not just observed. See Set policies.
  3. Generate an Evidence Pack whenever you need to show where you stand.

Waiting until late 2026 means walking into the deadline with no history to show. Starting now means the record builds itself.
